Apple AirPort Error 10057 from a Windows PC

Just figured out something that’s been plaguing me since I got my AirPort units setup here at the office. I could configure them and connect fine and dandy, but I had to use “Configure Other…” from the file menu.

Are you seeing this?

As it turns out, Windows prefers IPv6 if enabled. This means that it’s trying to connect to the AirPort Base Station via IPv6. Well for some reason it doesn’t work correctly so disabling IPv6 on the Windows PC will allow you to simply connect via the AirPort utility’s lost of units.

Granted, this isn’t a great solution to get around this issue, but for certain environments and scenarios it’ll do the trick.
